18th International Reinhardsbrunn Symposium: Modern Fungicides and Antifungal Compounds
, Friedrichroda, Germany.
Aims &
Topics
For over 50 years the name "Reinhardsbrunn" has become famous in scientific circles for the Symposium series whichdraws together fungicide scientists from academia, research institutes and industry to present, listen to and discuss the latest research findings from around the worldin this fast moving field.
Such research is a vital component in the quest to provide adequate control of the fungi that threaten the world's food supply and commodity products. Only by discovering new active molecules by synthetic chemistry or from natural sources and by understanding how they work and how best to use them in geographically different locations, can we hope to maintain and improve the quality of life for the world's growing population.

The theme of the 1st workshop is "Resources to Industry: bridge the gap". This topic implies our interest and endeavor in screening predatory mite resources and developing industry and commercial products. We will especially focus on how we should evaluate and utilize abundant predatory mite resources in the Asia-Pacific region. The workshop will last for 4 days, including 1 day for registration. On the 2nd day, a symposium will be held with experts from both developed and developing countries invited to provide seminars about most recent progress in biological control research and application, and recent surveys of predatory mites and other natural enemy resources worldwide. On the 3rd day, we will have a few sections, each focus on one aspect of related research. Possible sections include:
  • Natural Enemy Resource Survey and Taxonomy
  • Progress in Fundamental Biological Research
  • Mass Rearing and Industrialization
  • Applications in Cropping Systems
